Shanna Baccas Shanna Baccas from Jamaica suffered from Anorectal Malformation. This defect results when the anus and rectum of the foetus do not develop properly during the fifth to seventh week of pregnancy. As a six-year old child, Shanna had a cecostemy done at the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto. Surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Jacob Langer and TCCF covered the cost.
